Alabama DUI Penalties
In addition to the penalties listed below, all persons convicted of the crime
of Driving Under the Influence are required to post high risk SR-22 insurance
and attend and complete a DUI or substance abuse program. Also, the enhanced
penalties are imposed on convictions received within a five year period, except
for the third and subsequent convictions which are measured over a person's lifetime.
